Being a nut

As an intro into this post. I am a nutter.

For the yanks (if any ever read this) – "nutter" meaning a person who is nuts, mad, out of their tree, one sandwich short of a picnic.

A couple of years ago I had a revelation (well I like think it was). A new theory on time.

This morning I saw Tom Foremski’s twitter post on an article in the Telegraph on Are we missing a dimension of time?. This reminded me that I have to post this idea to my blog, it belongs here along with the rest of my madness.

This post is about trying to be disruptive, a disrupter and/or a serial entrepreneur.

I met some people in Cambridge a few weeks ago and they told me people used to think Einstein was nuts, therefore I have faith. People thought Darwin was nuts, Newton and so on. However, people used to listen to them, no one listens to me, not even my wife :) My wife has evolved this brilliant ability to “sort of” turn off when I start talking about any tech or scientific thing, it is quite amazing. Then again she is quite amazing. Plug for her… and she will not even read this, ever :) No browny points for me then.

So if you are or want to be a disrupter, then maybe the Cambridge folks are correct, get people to think you are nuts.

Here are my nutty ideas.

Time is dark energy - Dark energy accounts for 74% of the universe, what fills the universe? Time and space... no new strings or dimensions or anything other than we already know about. Could it be possible that we cannot see the wood for the times...

Quantum storage – can you believe I am the first person in the world to think use the term quantum data storage model, me neither, but Google thinks so http://www.google.com/search?q=quantum+data+storage+model. Considering the only thing I know about SEO is it stands for search engine optimisation (like anyone has time to optimise a search engine?)

humanopinion.org (currently on sabbatical, retired until I can be arsed to reinject some passion into it)

www.snyping.com – extraordinary monitoring of extraordinary stuff... did I hear some say technological singularity? CME?

coull.com - Interactive video (not my personal idea, but a BIG part of my life! And I have bought into it on all fronts)

What is your nutty idea? Tell the world. As a friend of mine Kenny Brandt once said to me, "Don’t be afraid". Thanks Kenny and thanks Tom for reminding me to post my time theory here. Now time to get started on that interview, The Tom Foremski Series.

Are you a nut?

The world needs more nuts now than ever before… come on do your part…
